Replacing fuses

Volvo V50 (2004-2012) fuse box diagrams & schemes (1)

There are relay/fuse boxes located in theengine compartment and the passenger compartment. If an electrical component fails to function, thismay be due to a blown fuse. The easiest wayto see if a fuse is blown is to remove it.

To do so:

  • Pull the fuse straight out. If a fuse is difficultto remove, special fuse removal tools arelocated on the inside of the fuse box covers.
  • From the side, examine the curved metalwire in the fuse to see if it is intact.
  • If the wire is broken, insert a new fuse ofthe same color and amperage (written onthe fuse).

If fuses burn out repeatedly, have the electricalsystem inspected by a trained and qualifiedVolvo service technician.

Never use metal objects or fuses with higheramperage than those stated on the followingpages. Doing so could seriously damageor overload the vehicle's electrical system.
