UPDATE: A last minute deal has been struck. MSNBC has re-upped Lawrence O’Donnell‘s deal, keeping him at the network for the “foreseeable future” and renewing the series for Season 8.
The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell has been cancelled at MSNBC after seven seasons, unless a last-minute deal can be struck.
O’Donnell has confirmed that his contract with MSNBC expires June 4, 2017.
Leveraging social media, O’Donnell said:
“I’ll let you know where you can watch me June 5 if it’s not msnbc. I’m sorry this situation has become public.”

Philly reports:
However, according to HuffPost, sources indicate that complications have arisen over a time slot move for The Last Word from 10 p.m. to 6 p.m., and that the network “has not been in contact with O’Donnell’s team of representatives to negotiate a new deal.”
Will there be an 11th hour deal to keepThe Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell at MSNBC? Will the show find a new outlet? Stay tuned…

This is one of your more intelligent, thought out shows; not full of pundits aka The Rev Al – Get Rid of It. Lawrence is so brilliant and politically correct that the IQ has to be high enough to understand. Don’t cave

Lawrence is the best. Who’s the numbers that made this decision or are you bowing to Trumps pressure. Shame on msnbc…… The lower case used as the decision makers are lower intelegence

“cancelled …, unless a last-minute deal can be struck”. That seems quite premature then to headline this as cancelled? I’d bet Larry O will be gone, but it doesn’t seem right to call it a cancel when it’s not official?

Mr. Lack is driving this Network to the ground.
As they shut down more and more of their educated, informed and intelligent shows….they will loose more and more of a like minded audience.
Please get someone at that programing dept. who understands AUDIENCE…it’s not the numbers as much as the audience.Reply

Sad — I will change channels in this time slot if not renewed.

I totally agree. I look forward very much to this show from Monday to Friday and forego other programs in order to watch it. I hope that a contract can be worked out and MSNBC keeps him on.

PLEASE do not cancel this show. This is only one of the 4 shows I record from MSNBC. I love the way he presents the news. He puts it right where the goats can get it.

This is a few days old because as of Friday, MSNBC is re-negotiating with Lawrence because of the outrage from the public!

You should reconsider!!!!Reply

Shows on this channel by Chris Matthews, Chris Hayes, Rachael Maddow and Lawrence O’Donnell are the only ones that speak the truth. We all know that Fox and its hosts do not speak the truth. They admitted that they are not news, but entertainment , so why would MSNBC hire any of these hacks?!! Are they self destructing? Be wise and leave the evening lineup as it is. Myself and I’m sure many others will simply turn the channel and watch something else. Leave perfection alone.
